Glenegedale House impressed me right from the start. The décor throughout the hotel felt luxurious yet cozy was good. Emma and Graeme's hospitality was really good. They were genuinely attentive and made an effort to know their guests. Breakfast was a highlight, especially the whisky porridge- delicious and a unique touch. The evening meals were on par with fine dining, with locally sourced ingredients that showcased Islay's flavors. I loved the baked muffins for breakfast, but they definitely left me wanting to join a gym after indulging! The location is fantastic for exploring the island, close to distilleries and beautiful landscapes. On a less positive note, there was a slight issue with my evening meal reservation, which led to an unexpected visit to a neighboring village, but the hosts quickly sorted it out, so it was not a major inconvenience. The Wi-Fi signal was stronger in the common areas, a minor hiccup, but overall, it did not detract from my stay. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking to explore Islay and enjoy some fantastic food.

WiFi signal weakens significantly in the rooms, favoring common areas-a mesh router might help future guests stay connected throughout. The midges in peak season are certainly a nuisance, but they didn't completely spoil outdoor experiences like sunset views over the beach. A minor hiccup occurred with dinner reservations, leading to an unexpected jaunt to a neighboring village. Even then, flexibility is key.
